So, I put my first video on youtube. Actually it's a slide show, but still it moves. Moving pictures is something I've been studying for several months now. I've put quite a bit of time into premiere 6.5 and this first video is experimenting with the "Ken Burns" style of documentary editing. For those that don't know, Ken Burns pioneered the art of zooming and panning across still images while telling a story. I don't have a story, except that the images are in a sequence of chronology and set to a song. I'm also working on some music video concepts and I attempted to follow the music as much as I stayed awake while doing this edit. The 'first video' was edited in about 3 hours one night. When I went to bed was about when the concert started, so I titled it "The Flaming Lips Documentary: pre-concert." Here is a link. Do comment over there at youtube. All feedback is wanted. I wish you could comment right here, but I got sick of comment spam a while ago that I killed the commenting system. I should go visit the blosxom user group on yahoo and look for a way to deal with spam that doesn't take a perl monger to implement.
